Spring-actuated bakes are electromagnetic brakes that are actuated by the force of a spring when electricity is not flowing. There are two types of spring-actuated brakes: braking and holding. Braking type spring-actuated brakes stop rotating or driving parts. The holding type maintains stopped positions of rotating or driving parts. It can be also used as emergency braking for machines or equipment.
